Sandinista! cover

Sandinista!

Released

If London Calling was The Clash working their way through rock’s history, Sandinista! was the overstuffed triple-LP bonanza that saw dozens of ways into pop’s future. Their flirtations with disco, hip-hop, dub, and nu-mod rock resulted in a hyper-ambitious, borderline-excessive excursion into every wild idea that crossed their minds, at least a dozen of which became some of the best songs in their catalog. (You can still be OK skipping Side 6.)
