Far-flung corners of contemporary music collide and refract on this 2021 recording by composer-performer collective Ensemble Pamplemousse.  A standout is Natacha Diels’ “The bridge has no train tracks,”  which passes from pointillistic swirls and speech fragments to a sparse, beautifully-scored close for violin, trombone, and organ. The piece highlights Pamplemousse’s rewarding specialities: multiplicity of perspective, intricacy of design, weird and wonderful juxtaposition.
