Signal Fire

Released

Considering all the concert albums made in Japan in the mid-late 70s by classic hard rock acts, it ain’t much surprise that the sound got unleashed amongst the local populace. Arguably one of the first, if not the first, proper Japanese metal acts, Bow Wow cranked out an incredible amount of quality Lizzy/Priest-esque shred rock in a short period of time. Their second album, Signal Fire, came out within a year of their first, but with opening gigs for KISS and Aerosmith under their bullet belts they really sparked on this release. Awesome dual guitar work and improved production meant they hit the sweet spot here; they even drop some nods to punk ’77 on “Get On Our Train.”
