A remarkable duet for Hahn’s violin and Hauschka’s prepared piano. Volker Bertelmann, also known as Hauschka, sometimes plays purely straight piano, and the most traditional numbers here are some of the best. A real gem that needs a great deal more attention. The level of musicality and invention here is bonkers, most of it fairly even and plangent, though two numbers sort of explode. Also really well-recorded.
