Slayed?

Released

Despite riding the glam rock wave to unexpected success, Slade were anything but glamorous – more like a precursor to AC/DC’s libidinous punter pub rock, really. Their most notable 70s release lacks the giant hit that Quiet Riot covered, but a lot of the other highlights are here. “Mama Weer All Crazee Now” and “Gudbuy T’ Jane” lead the misspelled pack, riotous bursts of energy that sound like what would happen if you corralled a bunch of football hooligans and told them to write songs. No bars were safe with them around.
