Songs From Another Season

Following Love and Rockets’s self-titled album success, its members took a break to pursue other work, with David J returning to the low-key but often quite engaging songcraft and experimentation he had explored in the mid-1980s. Songs From Another Season was the often delightful result, with J and a small clutch of collaborators — including two compatriots from the Jazz Butcher, Max Eider and Alex Green — creating a lovely late-night listen of an album, as songs like “I’ll Be Your Chauffeur” and “The National Anthem of Nowhere” demonstrated.
