Soul Retrieval

Grimm’s fourth full length solo release found the singer/songwriter aiming to embrace the concept outlined in the title phrase, finding both peace and a new focus in her work in general. While there were hints at some of her past experiences in song titles such as ”Hello Pool of Tears,” what stands out most is Grimm’s continuing ear for strong, compelling performances of her lyrics as well as engaging music that nods to psych and acid folk as much as American roots music in general.
