Stand in the Fire

Even though they call their instrumental “Escape from Shred City,” “Escape TO” would be more accurate for these Canadian defenders of the faith. They attack their guitar parts like the soccer position they’re named after, everything set to overdrive as they take 80s metal to its natural extremes. Their Flying V’s carry payloads of giant choruses on “Phoenix Lights” and “Too Late,” and – lest you think them predictable – they launch an air-to-air sax assault from “Out for Blood.” A conflagration worth standing in for sure.
