An overeager barista must have slipped an extra shot of espresso into the coffee served to the French conductor Jean-Claude Casadesus on the morning of the 1986 recording session for this incendiary Stravinsky album. Despite his tachycardic tempos, Casadesus remains in complete command, animating these well-trodden ballet scores with exceptional dynamism and lucidity.
