Elizabeth Fraser and her partner Damon Reece took their time, almost twenty years all in, making this brief album, along with prog legend and guitarist Steve Hackett. There’s a brief taste of trip-hop in the opener, but this album looks decidedly backwards, towards Beatles-indebted psychedelia, and English itself (which Fraser sings in this time). If you imagine a lost, slower XTC album, you have an idea of the setting. Fraser is herself, if slightly subdued. I just wish it was longer.
