Systems Overload

Released

Compromise is for people that aren’t Dwid Hellion. The punk legend and his band Integrity (of which he is the only constant member) helped invent metallic hardcore as we know it, and on Systems Overload he perfected it. Angry at a failed world, he takes aim at every system in sight, from the church to the government’s shameful lack of acknowledgment of the Armenian Genocide. Not much going in the way of subtlety — serial killer samples and raw-throated shouting abound. The 2013 A2/Orr+ mix makes things even dirtier, and therefore better. Henry Rollins may have smashed a mirror but Hellion smashes everything around it, too.
