Riding high on both their own creative flow and the early dawn of UK techno beginning its massive impact, not least due to the famed Hacienda nightclub that they co-founded and supported, Technique turned out to be New Order’s full-length creative pinnacle, an embarrassment of riches. Their counterbalancing of rock club and dance floor hit perfectly almost song for song, with singles like “Fine Time” and the mesmerizing “Round and Round” being just two high points, Bernard Sumner’s still unlikely lead singing voice perfectly matched.
