The Blue Hour

Released

Having done their first two reunion albums with their regular producer Ed Buller, Suede switched to another long time UK production veteran, Alan Moulder, for their third effort, 2018’s The Blue Hour. Whether it was that or other factors, the result was in ways one of their most atypical, intriguing releases; building on Night Thoughts’s lushness, it starts with one of their most melodramatic numbers, “As One.” Swaying singalongs like “Life is Golden” and “Cold Hands” are interspersed with some (perhaps appropriately) very Bowie-circa-Diamond Dogs interstitials.
