The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste

Released

A year after The Land of Rape and Honey, the creative swirl centered around Al Jourgensen, which was by now essentially functioning as a multi-act nexus like the glory days of Parliament/Funkadelic, served up the next Ministry album and proceeded to top the earlier release. Kicking into gear with the tech/thrash charge of “Thieves,” Mind is a bracing and more varied listen, from the astonishing Killing Joke homage “Burning Inside,” featuring some of Bill Rieflin’s best drumming to that point, to the murmuring dub-tinged unease of “Cannibal Song.”
