The Oath

The sheer concentration of occult excellence on The Oath’s debut feels like a devilish trick. It’s not. For their one and only ritual together, Joanna Sadronis and Linnea Olson successfully read from the Necronomicon, yanking spooky Sabbath spirits like “Silk Road” and “Black Rainbow” from its long pig leather-bound pages. The Swedish duo broke the oath after this record, each going their separate ways – to Lucifer and Beastmilk, respectively – but their black magic thankfully went with them.
