The Seeds of Love

Released

Tears for Fears’ third album, the final one featuring the core duo of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith until 2004’s Everybody Loves A Happy Ending, is something of a ‘you had to be there’ sonic moment, a transitioning into Beatles-tinged psychedelia, cocktail bar jazz pop jams and easy going grooves that seemed to predict the 90s ‘adult album alternative’ format. But the duo’s singing remains top notch and for all of its growing-up-in-public vibes, it’s a well-polished and performed listen, as “Sowing The Seeds of Love” and “Woman in Chains” easily show.
