The Sky and the Caspian Sea (Feat. Pars Radio)
Released
Roshi Nasehi is an Iranian-Welsh singer, arranger and educator, while Graham Dowdall aka Gagarin aka Pars Radio is an electronic experimentalist from an earlier generation who has worked with everyone from Nico and John Cooper Clarke to young producers in the first wave of grime. Their collaboration emerged in the folktronica era of the early 2000s, but is completely unique within that. Roshi’s voice, singing in both English and Farsi, is stunning in its purity and power, her lyrics are intriguing in their magical realism, and the combination of her complex songwriting with the electronics is done just perfectly.
