The Third Mind

Released

Dave Alvin’s lengthy musical life embarked on a noteworthy new phase when he and Camper Van Beethoven stalwart Victor Krummenacher founded a new project in the late 2010s – the Third Mind. Joined by Krummenacher compatriot David Immerglück and drummer Michael Jerome, the group’s debut album was a predominantly instrumental collection of improvisational psych-rock performances, ranging from an opening riff on Alice Coltrane’s jazz masterpiece “Journey in Satchidananda” to a striking turn on the Butterfield Blues Band’s “East/West.”
