The Visitor
Released
The albums Jim O’Rourke has been sporadically releasing on the Drag City label since the late 90s are by far the most approachable ones in his vast discography. They range from Bacharachian songcraft to Wilco-assisted rockers to fingerpicked melodies over stormy drones. Consisting of a single 38 minute long track, The Visitor is a bouncing, shuffling mix of bluegrass and chamber music, a kitchen sink combination that sprawls out in waves to reveal the most hopeful sounds in O’Rourke’s arsenal.
