The Cairo electronic scene is having a real moment these last few years (as of 2023), thriving equally on the booming street rhythms of mahraganat and the more avant-garde sounds of its experimental artists. 3Phaz sits somewhere in between, cooking up a new, harder, and more club oriented interpretation of shaabi, blending relentless tabla and riq percussions with the deep bass and siren-like synths of mahraganat, twisting it all together in pounding techno and footwork concoctions.
