Toast

What came out in 2002 was Are You Passionate? but what Young and Crazy Horse made first, in 2001, was this, Toast. The sound is the way Young has kept it in the 21st century—a big live room sound with lots of warmth and looseness and a few goofs. Young is in a contrite and melancholy mood here, which does not in any way limit his use of loud, humbucked fuzz and heavy grooves.
