Twelve Years of Tears

Marc Almond’s various live albums over the years, ranging from engaging semi-bootlegs during the Mambas years to various triumphant efforts from Soft Cell reunions and elsewhere, all offer entertainment, but possibly his strongest such example during his solo commercial height was this splashy one-off show recorded at the Royal Albert Hall. Touching on both his solo hits and some deep cuts, as well a few choice Soft Cell classics, including a monumental set closing “Say Hello Wave Goodbye” featuring what sounds like a full orchestra, it’s a treat of a listen.
