Six years after their debut full-length Lo Que Nadie Ve, Guadalajara’s Hey Chica! demonstrate a leap in their evolution without sacrificing the emotional ideas that helped them establish themselves on the Mexican indie rock scene. Amping the distortion and reverb to add a shade of shoegaze to their marriage of emocore and jangle pop, “No es cuestión de tiempo” delivers a sugar rush of spiky pop, while the other two tracks stretch the formula to explore equally exciting territory.
