By 1975, Philly house band MFSB had already played on a series of huge hits and in the process defined the disco sound — 4/4 beat, off-beat hi-hat, sweeping orchestration, Latin percussion and a BIG sense of drama. They showcase the kind of licks that made them famous throughout this album of instrumentals all featuring that velvety 70s soul production. Taking in a variety of moods and pace and all played to perfection by a band who by this point were defining much of the sound of soul and R’n’B.
