Universe in Reverse

Following some initial EPs, the collaborative duo of Pale Saints veteran Ian Masters and Tim Koch of Central Processing Unit released their debut album, Universe in Reverse, in 2023. With Masters’s still preternaturally sweet singing providing not only a general focal point but the basis for chopping up and treatments mixed in with flowing electronics, Universe moves like a queasy beautiful dream, from slower grooves like “Mankind Will Disappear” and “The Man Who Froze Himself For Fun” to more frenetic kicks such as the opening “As the Great Brain Pulsates.”
