The word “nightmarish” gets thrown at a lot of metal music, but in the case of these psychedelic Finns it’s 100% warranted. Horrific images and discordant sounds flashed by, almost coalescing into something that makes sense until rationality gets yanked away at the last moment. It’s kinda like staring down Cthulhu’s gullet: just when things seem familiar a half-digested shoggoth floats by and reality shifts from under you. This theoretically gets filed in with black metal. Theoretically.
