Any entry in Masami Akita’s extensive discography will destroy your speakers, ears, and relationship with anybody else nearby. Venereology was his “breakthrough” in the US, thanks to Relapse’s Release noise-focused sub label. Akita rose to the occasion; inspired by Relapse’s focus on death metal and grindcore, he somehow put together his most abrasive effort yet. Akita cranked all his noise machines to maximum (and even broke American mastering limits) to punish the listener in new and exciting ways.
