Watch the Throne album cover
Watch the Throne

Kanye West , Jay-Z

2011
Roc-A-Fella Records

The chiseled, metallic gold cover by designer Riccardo Tisci said it all: Watch the Throne was luxury hip-hop. Before falling out over many a splendored thing, Jay-Z and Kanye West teamed together for a 2010s classic. “Niggas in Paris” made Hit-Boy’s career (and a trilogy with Nas) possible. “No Church in the Wild” figured in half a dozen suspenseful movie trailers in the decade since. “Made in America” stretched toward the maturity Jay later explored on 4:44, but “Otis” was the sound of two legends having fun on their way to the billionaire mark.
