Wave Of Sorrow cover
Released

Wave Of Sorrow pairs pianist Misha Alperin with horn player Arkady Shilkloper for a set of 10 original compositions. Don’t let the duo format fool you, however, into thinking this is a quiet affair. The density and reach of their playing find affectionate company in ECM’s reverb, not least of all in the melodica-infused title track. Despite the album’s title, listeners will be treated to passages of great fun (“Unisons”) and enchantment (“Short Story”). And while there may be a cloud or two in this sky, we see enough stars to count our blessings along the way.
