Drew Daniel formally brought back the Soft Pink Truth after a decade to launch a new phase of his solo work, returning to the model of the earlier Do You Want New Wave… release via a grouped series of covers. The focus this time was the black metal subculture and following a treated spoken word “Invocation of Strength,” done with Anonhi as a guest, Daniel and a further cohort of collaborators, including Terence Hannum and Jenn Wasner, revamp and implicitly critique source material from Venom, Darkthrone, An and others into queer electronic raptures.
