You don’t need to go the whole 22 minutes to discover if you’re one of the “us” that Nails belongs to — you’re either in from the first burst of grinding hardcore rage or you’re slamming “stop” so hard the record spins off the turntable. “Unrelenting” begins to describe it, so does “harsh,” so does “brutal” — but only begin. It’s about as close to experiencing that moment when Bruce Banner goes from puny human to Hulk as you can get through music. There are songs here, at least, even if they’re short sharp shocks and serve mainly to punch the listener through a brick wall.
