Nik Dawson is a prolific and visionary beast out here with his pay-what-you-want albums. This one hops confidently from some strain of beat refraction into pure windsock textures into chord diffractions. More than a little like Autchre’s Sign, but dirtier, and then there’s a bunch of Aphexy stuff, and all the songs are named after chemical compounds. So, Nineties-adjacent.
