… And As We Have Seen the Storm, We Have Embraced the Eye

Named after a Morbid Angel song but finding those formulas fatal to their flesh, Chapel of Disease embraced their classic metal love on their third album and created an ambitious (and very satisfying) blend of their influences. While the title nods to Neurosis, they instill their complex song structures with epic major key riffs rather than downbeat heaviness. Which isn’t to say this doesn’t explore the dark clouds surrounding them. They may be in the eye of the storm but they’re fully aware that doom awaits on all sides.
