And Who Shall Go to the Ball? And What Shall Go to the Ball? cover

And Who Shall Go to the Ball? And What Shall Go to the Ball?

Released

Walker’s shortest formal release, not even reaching half an hour in length, And Who Shall Go To The Ball? was a stellar example of his latter-day interest in instrumental soundtrack efforts for various other artists, in this case a dance performance by the London-based CandoCo company. Consisting of four movements and played by the London Sinfonietta and various regular Walker cohorts like Peter Walsh, the music intersperses near silence with unidentifiable noises, sudden bursts of instrumentation and the feeling of a very abstruse ritual of some kind.
