While Compilation served as the crucial release by the Clean, their continuing career over the years as the three members regrouped for more albums and tours meant that a further overview made sense, with the two CD Anthology getting a New Zealand release in 2002 and a US one the following year. The first disc covered much of the same material as Compilation plus some further rarities and one-offs, while the second sampled from Vehicle, Modern Rock and Unknown Country, adding some further rarities to create a great portrait of the band’s work.
