Over a decade after their formation, the Clean released the one thing they hadn’t done by that stage – a stand-alone full length album, rather than a collection of tracks from singles and EPs – though in keeping with their spirit of brevity, 1990’s Vehicle wasn’t even half an hour long. But the thirteen tracks show that their sweet energy combined with a tinge of reflection and mood remained as strong as ever, the Kilgour brothers and Robert Scott neatly stitching together motorik-pop with easygoing harmonies and more on songs like “Big Soft Punch” and “Dunes.”
