BADBADNOTGOOD saxophonist Leland Whitty stepped out to make this album by himself (along with his older brother and some of the BADBAD players), beginning at the start of the pandemic. You’ll hear bits of the Sam Gendel and Sam Wilkes blurry jazz thing, but also tons of dollar bin soundtrack gems, like Quincy and David Axelrod and CBC library tracks. The kind of music that takes an immense amount of work to go down quickly and easily. It will haunt you, this spooky jazz upside down music.
