Ashes cover
Released

By the time of Ashes, Christian Death’s lineup had undergone some changes from its earliest days, but the exchange of punk-derived edge for moodier textures and notably a shift in Rozz Williams’s singing towards a calmer but still compelling level resulted in an often striking collection of songs from the days of 80s goth. A secret standout for the band as a whole: “When I Was Bed,” with the vocals of Williams and Gitane Demone in close intertwine over a calmly driving arrangement.
