While 1993’s At Worst was already the third of what would be any number of compilations of Culture Club’s work over the years, it’s also a handy introduction to Boy George’s early solo years; if his chart success never reached the same heights, in retrospect his various musical explorations turned up many surprising highlights. Among the standouts: his UK smash cover of Ken Boothe’s “Everything I Own,” a vivid interpretation of “The Crying Game” from that film’s soundtrack and a lovely ballad with P. M. Dawn from their second album, “More Than Likely.”
