Authorised Rockers

In 1976, singer Johnny Clarke was at the peak of both his vocal powers and his popularity in Jamaica. That year, he recorded two albums for Virgin Records’ Frontline subsidiary label: Rockers Time Now and Authorized Version. In 1991, Virgin reissued both albums on a single CD (minus one track from Authorized Version) under the title Authorised Rockers. The resulting disc is the best Clarke collection to get if you want only one — virtually every essential song is here.
