Big Joanie’s second album showcased the London trio even more widely thanks to a signing with Kill Rock Stars, with the band happily claiming the lineage running through acts like Bikini Kill and the Gossip among others. The music backs it up: with Chardine Taylor-Stone driving the band with her drumming, Stephanie Phillips and Estella Adeyeri handle guitar and bass, creating a punchy electronic-punk clatter that vividly and crisply claims plenty of space, from the puncturing of a “Confident Man” to the vivid kick of “In My Arms” and the closing “Sainted.”
