Cheap Trick

To say Cheap Trick burst out of the gate with a killer debut album isn’t just an understatement but utterly damning with faint praise; years of woodshedding and a massive live reputation were distilled into a roaring and catchy blast of 70s pop-rock perfection. With Rick Nielsen’s songs, Robin Zander’s pure vocal charisma and the killer rhythm section of Tom Petersson and Bun E. Carlos, its highlights ranged from the glam stomp “Elo Kiddies” to the wrenching “Oh, Candy” to the snarky “He’s a Whore” to the harrowing “The Ballad of TV Violence (I’m Not The Only Boy).”
