Danzig II: Lucifuge

Released

Like Bride of Frankenstein, Danzig’s second solo spookshow tops the first, upping the spectacle and scares. And hooks. “Long Way Back from Hell” announces he’s out-arm-wrestled Satan, “Snakes of Christ” rewrites “Twist of Cain” to be a few millennia later, and “Devil’s Plaything” is the kind of spectral sleaze power ballad that got millions of goth girls spinning their records backwards. “I’m The One” still plays nightly at the Twitty Twister. Despite a song called “Killer Wolf,” that’s not a lycanthrope on the cover.
