Freedom Sounds In Dub

The in-demand Soul Syndicate band couldn’t fit inside of Tubby’s home studio, but when Tubby began to dub out some of their sessions cut for the Greenwich Town Freedom Sounds label, the results were a match made in dub heaven. Freedom Sounds in Dub culls fifteen B-sides from 1976-1979 and Tubby roves with the freedom to take the music to the furthest reaches of outer space while also dropping the floor out from under you. Bass hits open up huge sinkholes and reverb breaks suggest a zero gravity state. By turns dark, playful, and psychedelic, Freedom Sounds is an easy entry point into Tubby’s unfettered soundworld.
