From Here to Eternity

The camp collectors will be on this record already, and I cannot blame them. Speaking and singing through a vocoder for more than a few songs is an inherently hilarious approach for any album. And yet, you know where this all went—Daft Punk had Moroder himself tell his story on Random Access Memories, because they recognize his real love for the craft of making records. So, for as truly goofy as this album is, and despite its lack of an “I Feel Love,” it’s a set of fully-formed songs that goes hard, and reveals that, for all of the computer uncle schtick, Moroder always heard a deep beauty in the machines. Giorgio did not fuck around!
