Hail to the Thief

Released

A decade on from their debut album Radiohead had practically reinvented themselves just enough each time out that when Hail To The Thief came out it was a surprise to realize it was more of a consolidation than a next step forward. Yet at the same time it was almost like they had earned it, and the album, far from simply being a retread, demonstrated that the band always perfectly balanced accessible pop hooks with unexpected twists and arrangements, standouts including “There There,” “2+2=5,” “The Gloaming” and “Sail To The Moon.”
