Hegira cover
Released

A lovely album by Dubai based Sudanese trio Adiga. The band locks into a mellow groove right off the bat and never wanders too far, so that the record feels like a single, cosmic track. It’s what you’d get if you combined the Sudanese jazz and soul of The Scorpios with the expansive, road-trip vibes of Khruangbin and the precise guitar work of Kokoroko. Hegira is not exactly demanding — you could easily come across it on a generic “chill vibes” playlist — but it is lush. A soothing tonic for the soul.
