Judgement

It’s a little strange to call the 2007 album by such a defiantly and steadily electronic act as VNV Nation their big rock effort, but in many ways Judgement, focused and burning with some of the act’s angriest lyrics and loudest arrangements, is exactly that. By this point Ronan Harris’s general approach to albums as a whole was well-established, and surging, inspirational tracks like “The Darkest Star” and slow, moving ballads like “Illusion” were to be expected. But the sheer rampage and feeling of “Nemesis” and tenderly-sung but musically-roaring “Testament” weren’t to be denied.
