Over time, Skindred have evolved away from the reggae and dancehall core of their early sound, shifting into a more metal-focused style with regular forays into hard-edged funk (and the occasional anthemic post-hardcore chorus). Singer Benji Webbe still flings the Jamaican patois and calls out “idiot soundbwoys” on a regular basis, but at this point these guys are sounding more and more like a straight-up metal band. And honestly, hardly anyone does it better.
