Les Rivières (Un Récit Documentaire De Mai Hua)
Released
This is a classic soundtrack of a kind that started up in the late Nineties, a carefully tuned batch of piano, violin, and synth that perfectly matches the tone of Mai Hua’s documentary about her French and Vietnamese family gathering. Calling it a tear-jerker sounds like an insult, though it is that and it’s not an insult to declare that. This is exceedingly tender music that doesn’t overplay its hand.
